I am a 1993 college graduate of Jacksonville State University. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Social Work, a Master's of Science Degree in Education and an Education Specialist Degree. I am also MSLE Certified (Dyslexia) since 2011. I began my career in education in 1997 with the Piedmont City School District. I taught kindergarten for eight years and have been the Alabama Reading Specialist since 2005. 

I am a mother of five children, who are all grown and have families and/or careers of their own. Within my family I have two daughter-in-laws that I refer to as my daughters. I am also a Granna of four beautiful grandchildren, two girls and two boys. I love spending time with my family and enjoying fun memorable activities.
