National Theme: “Your Future is Key, so Stay Drug Free”


1.     Dress Up Days

        Monday – Elect to be Drug Free – wear red, white and blue

        Tuesday – Dare to be a Hero and Say No to Drugs – dress like a superhero

        Wednesday – Your Future is Bright… Be Drug Free –dress like your future career

        Thursday – Follow Your Dreams and Don’t Do Drugs – wear pajamas   

        Friday – Team Up Against Drugs – wear your favorite team colors   


2.     Door Decorating Contest – Each teacher will decorate her classroom door using the National Theme- “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free.” The doors will be judged and the winning classroom will receive a pizza party. Also, each decorated door will be entered into a contest sponsored by The Agency for Substance Abuse. They will have a panel of judges and give prizes to the top three doors.  First place - $400, Second place - $250 and Third place - $100. The door that is chosen as a winner, will be given this money to use in the classroom. 

 3.     Community Service ActivityCoins for a Cure – We will be collecting money for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.   Each classroom will have a container for money classroom and encourage students to participate.   We will begin collecting money on Monday, October 16th and end the contest on Thursday, Oct. 26. To add to the excitement for our students, we are going to do a pie in the face contest. On Friday the 27th following our annual kick ball game the teachers from the winning grade will receive a pie in the face.  Also Mrs. Stewart has volunteered to take a pie if we meet or pass our school goal of $400.00.    

4.      Stay in the Game, Be Drug and Bully Free -Faculty vs. Students, Kick Ball Game – We will have two different games. Students in PreK – 2nd will come out to watch 2nd graders playing faculty members at 12:45. Third – fifth grade will come out to watch 5th graders playing faculty members at approximately 1:30. The game will be on Friday, October 27.
